Friends of Oswego County Hospice, Inc., a not for profit organization, believes in the unique service provided by Oswego County Hospice. We are committed to supporting Oswego County Hospice in its efforts to assist terminally ill people and their families. We are dedicated to promoting public awareness, professional education of hospice philosophy, and financial support and fund raising to supplement public funds. Your contributions support hospice patients

Donations to the Friends of Hospice from memorial contributions, fundraising events and memberships provide the extra resources that hospice patients and their families need to make their final moments as comfortable as possible. In 2007, the Oswego County Hospice program served 163 patients for a total of 9,293 care days-the highest on record. Both admissions and length of stay in the program were higher than in 2006. Friends continue to support patients and their families by providing special needs funds to cover extraordinary costs of care, sunshine funds to brighten their day with a gift, operate Camp Rainbow of Hope, maintain the Memorial Gardens and support the Hospice volunteer program.

Oswego County Hospice Cup Regatta is held each summer on beautiful Lake Ontario. In addition to the sailboat racing, the day’s events include a 5K Walk/Run for Hope, live auction, entertainment and reception.  This one day event is the flagship of Friends of Oswego County Hospice fundraising efforts and it permits the Friends to provide ongoing support for Oswego County Hospice patients and their families.
Camp Rainbow of Hope, a residential program experience for children ages eight to 12 who have experienced the loss of a loved one, will be held on August 25 through 27 at Camp Hollis in Oswego.  The all volunteer-run camp is a place where children can reach out to others who have had similar experiences, acknowledge their loss, develop coping skills and celebrate their lives and the lives of those they lost.
